Rich, ripe and darkly aromatic, the nose of this well-priced bottling unveils black currant, dark sour cherry, mulberry, blackberry, dark tobacco, graphite, clove and sweet vanilla scents. It is palate-coating, gripping, appealingly zesty and full of dark berry-cherry fruit, black fig and dried herbal spice flavors. Those flavors gain further savory depth from lots of toasty oak and the combination soars above an ample supply of tannin. Long and already a fine Prime Rime wine, it will be even finer in 3-4 years. This is a blend from several fine Napa vineyards, most notably the Coliseum Black. 440 6-packs produced.
