Plump and juicy, focused and forthcoming, this is an extremely impressive Cabernet from a vineyard block famous for producing wines of grandeur. The nose is a harmonious, forthcoming medley of black raspberry, dark boysenberry, black cherry, plum galette, fig, dark toffee and hazelnut nougat scents. On the palate it is richer still, yet so are the tannins, and flavors that are otherwise as complex and opulent as the aromas remain youthfully firm. An ultra-long finish, deep in blueberry, black currant, sweet tobacco and cocoa nib flavors, hints at a great future. It is certainly five years or more from showing all it has to show.
