NVWE Notes: Clearly recognizable as from the Russian River and a notable value, this dandy young Pinot Noir lifts aromas of raspberry, sour dark cherry, black cherry, sweet-pickled crab apple, baking-spice and pink peppercorn above subtle hints of hunter’s broth and forest mushroom. It is buoyantly fruity on the palate, where flavors of cherry, raspberry and crab apple dominate accents of cranberry relish, red rose, pink peppercorn and mace. Youthfully piquant fruit and tannin join to stiffen the texture and bring a slight edge to the lingering finish, so this one is best served with seared duck breast or grilled salmon at this point. Expect two years of steady improvement. 600 cases produced.
