This splendid Cab marries the intensity of Moon Mountain terroir with the Brilliant fruitiness of 2018. The opening aromas are a flashy Margaux-like mix of blueberry, black currant, black raspberry, cassis and violet that easily eclipses a harder core of charcoal, graphite, peppercorn, coffee bean, toffee, clove and darkly sweet pipe tobacco. On the palate, tannin, youthful zest and mineral undercurrents are notable yet clearly subordinate to fruit flavors that are a precise, racy mirror of the nose. The ultra-long finish is a wave of blueberry, black raspberry, black currant, cocoa and licorice. A delicious foil to a grand beef roast at this stage, it should be really stunning if allowed four or five years in the cellar. 100 cases produced.
