Our Notes: Subtly complex and elegantly layered, the nose of this immediately satisfying Pinot Noir is a perfume of Bing cherry galette, sweet red plum, blueberry, blood orange zest, mulling-spice, dry pink rose and pink peppercorn scents poised above a rich undercurrent of oolong tea. On the palate baked cherry, dried cranberry, lingonberry preserve, blood orange zest, toffee, star anise and pink peppercorn counterpoint sweet-savory impressions of mulling-spice, dried herbs and leafy forest-floor spice. It is harmonious and seductive through a lingering finish and should grow more so for another few years.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard is wonderfully expressive right out of the gate. Rose petals, mint, dried herbs, pine and blood orange are all beautifully lifted in a Pinot that marries aromatic brightness with fruit depth and a good deal of supporting structure. The freshness and vibrancy of the flavors make for a compelling, alluring Pinot. Mills, planted in 1984, is the one vineyard on the property planted on own-rooted vines. Drink 2022 - 2032.
