Buoncristiani 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
2019 Boncristiani Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 96 Points
Although this bottling is clearly the equal in fruit and intensity of the winery’s much lauded previous efforts, it easily surpasses them in polished focus and textural suppleness. The aromas are a creamy-rich melange of blueberry, black currant, Cherry Bounce, black licorice, molasses, sweet dark pipe tobacco, laurel, graphite and forest floor scents. On the palate, luxurious fruit and savory spice do much to suppress the wines tannins, which are substantial yet never coarse. The finish is amply supplied with fruit and it lingers beautifully and all the wine’s various elements combine to create a bottling that is enjoyable despite its youth. Expect four or five years of steady improvement. Blended with 3% Malbec and 1% Petite Verdot. 680 cases produced.
