Piquantly fresh and fiercely mineral yet beautifully ripe, this is a textbook Brewer Clifton Chardonnay. Rich and forthcoming, the nose layers focused aromas of slate, flint, preserved lemon, pineapple core, quince and white peach above an undercurrent of vanilla cream. It is quite juicy on the palate, where white peach, lemon sorbet, baked green apple and quince flavors coat the palate yet are attractively braced by Chablis-like flintiness. If the lingering finish shows a firm edge at this stage, the generous fruit will grow ever more dominant over the next two years. 700 cases produced.
