NVWE Notes: Delivering the expected Boeschen counterpoints of focused fruit and hard minerality, the aromas of this Cab are a mix of blueberry, black raspberry, pomegranate syrup, red currant, cedar, clove, baking-spice, star anise and green peppercorn layered above crushed rock undercurrents. It is lean, firm, focused and appropriately zesty on the palate, where piquant sour cherry, cherry pit and hard-edged mineral notes create a textural raciness that carries through a lingering finish. That finish focuses on flavors of sour red cherry, wild cherry, red plum, crab apple syrup, “red vines”, blueberry and teaberry with supporting notes of star anise, tobacco, cocoa, coffee bean, laurel above a subtext of dusty minerality. It will likely need five years to reveal its full generosity yet is truly food-worthy now. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 316 cases produced.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon rolls out of the glass with ready-for-business scents of plum preserves, wild blueberries and boysenberries with touches of red roses, cinnamon stick, cedar chest and black currant pastilles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has beautiful poise, featuring vibrant black fruit flavors and a fine-grained texture, finishing long and fragrant. Drink Date 2021 - 2041.
