This fully mature Burgundy offers a surprisingly rich bouquet of dried black cherry, cherry Bounce liqueur, licorice root and clove scents poised above incense-like undercurrents. It is more genteel and less overtly ripe on the palate, if just as rich, and the aromatic profile is replicated on the palate and through the finish. It is dinner-worthy and ready to enjoy.
