This stunning 2019 bodes extremely well for the quality of that vintage. Intense and beautifully focused, the nose opens with a rush of black currant, blackberry, black raspberry, sour cherry and violet melded seamlessly to scents of clove, cedar, mace, baking spice, coffee bean, sweet dark tobacco and hazelnut bark. It is densely fruit packed yet texturally racy on the palate, where an impressive core of polished tannin is well submerged by lavish flavors of black raspberry, black currant and sour red cherry, these in perfect harmony with others of hazelnut, coffee toffee, clove and black licorice. The finish is extremely long and the flavors are already satisfying, although it will be five years or more before this beauty starts to show its true glory.
