Deeply spicy, richly earthy and clearly a full flavored and complex Syrah, this wine delivers feral accented aromas of black raspberry jam, dark cherry galette, dried venison, toasted rosemary, dried herb, black peppercorn, hunters broth and damp forest scents. It is every bit as dramatic as hoped on the palate, where suggestions of coffee toffee and golden fig join the full panorama of flavors promised by the aromas. It is ultra long and the fairly substantial tannins are truly submerged in all the fruit and spice. Built for roatsed lamb and the like, it is delicious now, but may be truly special in another two years or so. 134 cases produced.
