The 2013 B&H 20th Anniversary, a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend, is rich, unctuous and impeccably balanced. Super-ripe red cherry, jam, pomegranate, blood orange, cloves, new leather and spices all meld together effortlessly in the glass. Sweet floral and spice notes add aromatic intensity to the intensely red fruit-toned flavors. This is the last wine made under the old Behrens & Hitchcock label. NVWE Notes: Creamy-rich and sophisticated, the nose of this youthfully reserved bottling centers on ripe dark cherry, blueberry, cranberry, red plum, pomegranate molasses, mulberry and black fig tied to savory scents of espresso bean, dark pipe tobacco, toffee, laurel and forest earth. It is classically 2013 (likely the most age-worthy year since 2001) on the palate, where a combination of piquant mountain fruit, hard minerality and gripping tannins firms and tightens the mouth-feel The finish is long-lasting and focused, with a beautiful integration of red cherry, red currant, blueberry, mulberry, fig, sweet tobacco and baking-spice flavors. It will improve for five to eight more years and prove long-lived. A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 22% Syrah & 11% Petite Verdot. 202 cases produced.
