Hudson is a great, if seldom seen Syrah vineyard. The aromas of this potential beauty are a polished, complex and obviously youthful mix of focused dark cherry, blackcurrant, peppery bouillon, licorice, graphite, charcoal, bresaola, toffee and darkly mineral scents. It is rich yet texturally sleek and packed with highly polished grip on the palate, where the sweet-natured flavors come on slow and steady to the lingering finish, where the balance of zest, rich fruit and mineral spice is nearly ideal. Three years from its full expression, it will always have class and already has terrific dinner balance.
