Bedrock 2021 Zinfandel Bedrock Heritage
2021 Bedrock Bedrock Vineyard Heritage Sonoma Valley

94 Points
Bold and brooding, this Zin-based blend is a cornucopia of aromas and flavors, with deep blackberry, smoky anise, black pepper, clove and other dusky spice notes that build tension and structure toward broad-shouldered tannins. Hands off for now. Zinfandel, Carignan and Mataro. Best from 2024 through 2032. 800 cases made. Tim Fish
2021 Bedrock “Evangelo Heritage” Zinfandel blend Contra Costa County
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 94 Points
This an ancient, fabled vineyard and the 2021 crop has delivered a great and memorably delightful expression of it. The aromas are an elegantly creamy mix of pomegranate, grenadine, lingonberry, violet pastille, sumac berry, pink peppercorn and fresh red rose scents poised above a genteel undercurrent of earthiness. It is at once piquantly fresh and texturally supple in the mouth, with deliciously lingering flavors of sweet picked crab apple, lingonberry, grenadine, cherry, toasted nuts, rooty spice and lots of star anise. As splendid as it is now, it may well prove even more so as it ages.
