Notably youthful, this gutsy Cabernet offers fresh blackberry, black currant, Italian Maraschino cherry, violet, cedar, clove, sandalwood, graphite and dark forest floor scents. It is boldly forthcoming on the palate, with fine zest and impressive (yet polished) tannic grip creating a near-perfect balance for service with steaks and grilled meats. The flavors center on blueberry and cassis, supported by clove, graphite and crushed-rock minerality. Although the wine is likely four years from its full expression, it is already tasty and finishes long and attractively gripping, so it should be delicious with Prime rib and the like at once.
