NVWE Notes: Vibrant, focused and gorgeous, the chiseled perfume that surges from this wine is a concentrated medley of fresh cranberry, fresh pomegranate, red raspberry coulis, Elephant Heart Plum jam, pink rose petal, pink peppercorn and “red vines” scents that hover above a background of dark minerality. In the mouth it is piquantly fresh, lean in texture and delivers palate-drenching fruit that lingers, with flavors of cranberry sauce, grenadine, raspberry, sweet-pickled crabapple, pink peppercorn, cherry pit and iron ore-like mineral notes weighing in at the end. It is already special and has years of evolution ahead. A 1890s field blend dominated by Zinfandel, Mataro and Carignane, 800 cases made.
