Balletto Vineyards Chardonnay Sexton Hill, Russian River Valley 2017

NVWE Notes: Rich, yet notably bright, the nose of this pretty Chardonnay opens with aromas of Meyer lemon zest, lemon curd, white peach, baked apple, pear, vanilla wafer, baking-spice and a hint of hazelnut nougat. Things are much the same on the palate, where a creamy texture is made racy by vibrant zest, and flavors of Meyer lemon marmalade, grapefruit, white peach, fresh applesauce, vanilla and nutmeg fan-out and linger as a delightfully food-friendly melange. If even better given a year or so, it will prove a  terrific companion now for sole in butter sauce and the like. 265 cases produced.
