VWE Notes: This is certainly the most charming and forthcoming vintage yet released from this brilliant vineyard. The nose pours-forth as a bright, spicy perfume of red apple skin, wild cherry, Elephant Heart plum, whortleberry, pomegranate, blood orange, pink peppercorn and cinnamon “red hots” above a background of coffee toffee and hazelnut nougat. It proves youthfully coiled, grippy and vibrantly fruity on the palate, where piquant notes of cherry pit, red apple skin and pink peppercorn uplift deeper flavors of red plum, pomegranate, wild cherry and mace. Lingering and brilliantly food-worthy already, this beauty will certainly improve for at least four years and possibly considerably longer. 426 cases produced.
