Although a bit slow to unfold, this Cabernet has matured nicely and it demonstrates true Rutherford personality in its aromatic mix of sweet dark cherry, boysenberry, blueberry, dark dry rose, sweet tobacco and baking spice. It shows fine elegance on the palate, where the tannins are genteel and the mouth-feel racy. The aromatic focus and harmony are well replicated on the palate, along with a freshening suggestion of cherry pit and some firming minerality. The finish is lingering and food worthy, delivering all the promised elegance. It is nearing its peak and can be fully enjoyed at this point.
