If not as generous in body as the spectacular 2019 Aubry, the 2020 is a fine, dinner worthy Cabernet. The nose is polished and forthcoming, as sweet-natured aromas of blueberry and dark cherry rise above a counterpoint of clove, vanilla, nutmeg and baking spice. It proves as sleek and as elegant as expected on the palate, where it is medium-bodied and lingers with gradually expansive flavors of blueberry, dark cherry, sandalwood, clove, nutmeg and baking spice, these poised above undercurrents of black fig and black olive. Airing brings the fruit to center stage, while the savory notes keep pace a step behind. Expect another year or more of positive evolution. 100 cases produced.
