This beautifully crafted Chardonnay shows backbone, tension, poise and focus. The aromas are a forthcoming melange of golden fig, golden mulberry, baked green apple, white peach, peach pit, lemon, chamomile, mace, nougat, baking spice and chalk scents. It is tongue-coating and supple on the palate, where it has impressive structure yet delivers concentrated fruit and spice. The flavors never flag and the finish focuses on white peach, tarte tatin, dried golden fig, golden mulberry, chamomile, bees wax, toasted meringue, nougat and baking spice flavors, while chalky mineral notes bringing balance. It should only get finer over the next twelve to eighteen months. A blend of grapes from the Dinner and Steiner vineyards, 250 cases produced.
