Argot 2019 Cabernet Sugarloaf
2019 Argot Cabernet Sauvignon Sugarloaf Vineyard Napa Valley

It is not often that you see a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon coming from this rising star, cooler-climate vineyard in south Napa. This wine comes exclusively from the low-yielding, steep, rocky "Block 6." Deep purple-black in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Sugarloaf Vineyard needs a little coaxing to reveal wonderfully pure scents of blackcurrant cordial, juicy blueberries and ripe blackberries, plus suggestions of iris bulb, dark chocolate, molten licorice and cedar chest. The big, rich, seductive, full-on full-bodied palate is laden with ripe, energetic black berry layers, framed by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and perfumed. A stunning, true-blue Napa blockbuster with its own very evocative signature, this comes highly recommended! 175 cases were made. Drink Date 2024 - 2050. Lisa Perrotti-Brown 30th Nov 2021

Sugarloaf may be the coolest Cabernet site in Napa Valley, but in years like this it is a great one. Concentrated in color, vibrant in zest and of chiseled focus, this beauty opens with coiled aromas if sour dark cherry, red currant jelly, black raspberry, Cherry Bounce, Mr. Lincoln Rose, nougat, baking spice, sweet tobacco leaf, vanilla and toffee. Violet, blueberry and pomegranate flavors dominate on the palate along with spice accents that include cherry pit, red apple skin, hazelnut and pink peppercorn. The finish is still youthfully tight yet ultra-long and the wine promises five years of steady evolution at the least. 175 cases produced.
