This wine is an exceptionally forthcoming expression of Mountain Merlot. The aromas are a gorgeous, focused mix of sour dark cherry, bottled red cherry, Santa Rosa plum preserves, violet pastille, Mr. Lincoln rose, dried sage, peppercorn and spicecake scents. It is richly textured and wonderfully forthcoming on the palate and the flashy flavors - a mirror of the aromas - linger impressively, adding in notes of “red vines” licorice and coffee toffee at the end. As fine as it is currently, it will surely be even more so in another eighteen months. 92 cases produced.
