A vintage star that beautifully illustrates the character of its fabled vineyard, this wine captivates from the first sip. The nose is a layered medley of red and dark cherry, black raspberry, black fig, licorice root, coffee bean, toffee, baking spice, dry sage, laurel and graphite scents. It proves as plush and sweet-natured as hoped on the palate, where its impressive tannins are almost entirely suppressed by luxurious flavors of dark cherry, cherry pit, dark boysenberry, black fig, star anise, dried herbs and forest earth. The lingering finish delivers everything the aromas promise and despite being four to six years from its maturity the whole package is almost irresistible right now. 270 cases made.
