Elegant and fruit forward, the nose of this immediately appealing Chardonnay delivers well focused aromas of baked green apple, preserved lemon peel, honeydew melon and nectarine, along some with sweet-savory baking spice and vanilla supporting notes, this whole layered above a subtle mineral undertone. It proves as flavorful and generous as expected on the palate, where a very long finish brightened by pretty zest carries forth focused flavors of baked apple, nectarine tart, poached pear, melon and honeysuckle, uplifted by emerging notes of lemon cream pie and chalky minerality. It is delicious already, yet is certain to be better a year from now. HMR is quite possibly the best Chardonnay vineyard in Paso Robles. 512 cases produced.
