The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc strides boldly out of the glass with notes of green apples, white peaches and fresh grapefruit plus hints of wild thyme, lemongrass, honeysuckle and musk perfume. Medium-bodied, the palate has a lovely touch of creaminess to the texture with loads of freshness lifting the intense stone fruit and citrus flavors to a long finish. Drink Date 2020 - 2028. The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is a very pretty and expressive wine that captures striking varietal character and textural richness, with pretty tropical overtones from the Sauvignon Musqué clone in the blend. Racy, inviting and flat-out delicious, the 2018 is a real winner. In this vintage, the Sauvignon has a bit more weight and texture while retaining its classic sense of brightness. NVWE Notes: This is a truly gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc that will only get better. The aromas are a piquant, minerally, focused mix of guava, peach pit, red apple skin, lychee, honeysuckle, white rose and white pepper with a suggestion of marzipan: all poised above a flinty mineral backdrop. Racy yet palate-coating guava, peach pit and honeysuckle flavors dominate in the mouth, where they are cut to the quick by fruit zest and Graves-like minerality. The finish is ultra long. and its blast of apple skin, guava and nectarine proves a lingering delight. Flavor depth and precision suggest service with classically sauced seafood entrees. Blended with 17% Semillon and 7% Musque.
