Lovely from the opening scent, this is a forthcoming and notably elegant Savoy Pinot which captures that properties character with precision. The nose delivers focused aromas of boysenberry, Elephant Heart plum galette, black raspberry, crushed dark rose, mocha, dark toffee, five spice, star anise and canela. It is fresher and tighter on the palate, where tannin, zest and strong minerality join bittersweet notes of hazelnut husk to stiffen the mouth-feel and bring a youthfully coiled effect to the flavors. The finish is long and suppleness of texture makes for a satisfying food companion. It will benefit from several more years of aging.
